Neil R. Finkston

Neil R. Finkston is a former member of the Manhattan-based law firm of Herzfeld & Rubin, P.C., where he specialized in appellate practice.  With more than thirty years of litigation experience, Mr. Finkston has advocated for clients  -- both plaintiffs and defendants -- in cases in the lower, intermediate and highest appellate courts in New York State.  Mr. Finkston's practice has included matters involving municipal law, medical malpractice, premises liability and general negligence, automotive liability, toxic torts, Labor Law, negligent security, domestic relations and complex commercial and real estate transactions.  He has also represented clients in national class action litigation involving pharmaceutical and medical products liability.

 

In addition to his diverse knowledge and experience in tort and business litigation, Mr. Finkston has counseled hospitals and medical practices in contractual, risk management and insurance issues. 

 

Mr. Finkston is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Finance.  He received his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board.

 

Mr. Finkston has been admitted to the Bars of New York, Connecticut and the District of Columbia (currently inactive).  Mr. Finkston has also been admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

 

Mr. Finkston is the elected Village Justice for the Village of Great Neck Plaza.  He has also served as a pro bono small claims arbitrator in Queens County for the New York State Unified Court System.    

 

Mr. Finkston is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, New York State Magistrates Association and Nassau County Magistrates Association.
